Teachers and support staff from Holdenville's three public schools were invited to take a break in their back to school prep by attending a luncheon in their honor at the church. The church wanted to express their appreciation for the hard work and challenges these professional make every day as they care for local children and youth during their educational process.
The ladies group, The United Methodist Women, organized the event remarking they feed close to 500 every spring for the fundraising Spring Luncheon so they could easily face the challenges of being a small church with big dreams of saying 'Thanks!"
The UMW, BMUMC, and local merchants contributed some delightful prizes for drawings awarded to lucky people from each of the three schools.
The church during 2016 has focused on reaching out to its community with messages of appreciation and hope to local police, fire, and emergency medical people letting them know they are being prayed for and supported.
